The festival has revelad its complete lineup, which also includes Kings of Leon, The Shins, Panic! At The Disco and Crowded House. The 37th annual festival is set to take place September 1-3 at the 74-acre Seattle Center. This year, festival organisers have introduced several greening initiatives such as using bio-diesel generators and banning Styrofoam to make it the greenest Bumbershoot in its nearly four-decade history. The event also includes three comedy stages, a film component, visual art exhibitions and dance and theatre performances. In addition, the songs of Nick Drake have been reinterpreted through film, writings, paintings and recordings and will be on display. Prices will increase to $95 for a three-day pass and $35 for one day beginning Friday (July 13). Wu-Tang Clan say they didn't 'sample' Beatles after all The Wu Tang Clan have retracted a statement they made earlier this week claiming they had sampled The Beatles song 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. "We didn't sample The Beatles, it was a replay, pardon," they wrote on their MySpace page yesterday (October 3). The band added: "The statement that we made yesterday was incorrect and we apologize for any confusion it may have caused. We DID NOT sample The Beatles...rather we did an INTERPOLATION of the classic George Harrison composition 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. "Dhani Harrison, son of George, through his friendship with the RZA, played guitar on the song and he himself helped secure the reuse license." Wu Tang Clan also announced that their version of the song, 'The Heart Gently Weeps', can be hear on Loud.com. |
